PRESS RELEASE

In response to a defaming video interview conducted by Ita-ogbolu news update in which one Chief Agbaato of Agamo accused the chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson of not visiting Agamo after the Ooga was recently murdered.

This allegation is considered as an attempt to tarnish the image of the performing chairman.

However, in contrast to Chief Agbaato's statement in the video, he attested to the fact that a joint security task force have since after the incident visited Agamo to carry out a deep and thorough investigation to unravel the mystery behind the incident which was as a result of the efforts of Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson as the chief security officer of Akure North in collaboration with the state governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. The chairman has also sent a delegation to condole with the family and the people of the community concerning the unfortunate incident.

Hon. Ogunbolude also issued a press statement sympathizing with the family, chiefs and the residents of Agamo. Recently, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson held a meeting with the council of Obas in Akure North Local Government, where the discussion centered around how community policing can be achieved in Akure North.

We therefore wonder why the Chief would talk down on the L.G boss after all these efforts have been made. We would like to state that there are other measures the chairman is working on to curb insecurity in Akure North Local Government but are not yet in the public domain because of sensitivity of security matters.

Before the death of the traditional ruler, the chairman and the late monarch had maintained a cordial relation, which led to the grading of the road leading from Itao-Ogbolu to Agamo community Fact has it that this newly graded road was in state of comatose years before it was attended to by the administration of Hon. Ogunbolude Johson. The chairman not coming in person might be on the account of his busy schedule with numerous official duties at his disposal in recent time. And we want assured the good people of Agamo that the chairman will do the need as his table is cleared.

We therefore advise the public to disregard misleading statements and support the chairman in all his attempts to ensure peace and tranquillity across Akure North.

Signed:

 concerned Akure North Citizens
